What You Need To Know About Glass Fence

If this is your first time looking into changing your old traditional fence to a modern balustrade, there are certain things you should know before you get started.

How much will it cost me?

Have been considering upgrading your home by purchasing a glass fence to add to a staircase, balustrade or even a pool area? If so, you’ll be happy to know that this is an investment you can count on! Glass fencing is a wonderful investment for your home and will not only add monetary value, but also aesthetic appeal.

One thing you should know before embarking on such a project is that glass panels are not inexpensive. For each panel, you’re looking at a cost of between $400 and $700. Costs vary depending on the size, the quality and other differentiating factors. If you require around 15 meters of fencing at these prices, you may be looking at a price of up to $7500 for the materials for the entire project, plus labor and other costs. Is this worth the price? Without a doubt!

Glass paneling adds a sophisticated and modern look to your home that you just can’t get from a steel fence. It is as secure as it is attractive. With this investment, you can be sure that your home will gain both value and attractiveness.

Is this a project I can do on my own to save money?

Hypothetically, you can undertake such a project on your own, but keep in mind that this is far from a simple undertaking. You’ll need to carefully measure, select the best glass, abide by regulations for fencing and projects, and even drill on your own. You might not be so happy with the results, so it’s probably a better idea to select professionals to grace your home with a glace fence rather than trying to save a couple hundred dollars and costing yourself time and money. When you go with a professional, oftentimes warranties will cover mistakes and expenses are covered. If you’re going with a professional glass fencing company, be sure to select one with a warranty!

At Pacific Fencing, we pride ourselves on our honest advice, highly competitive pricing, and legitimate workmanship warranty. Come see for yourself why we’re the best in the industry!

If you’re looking for a glass fencing company, Pacific Fencing is a name you should trust and remember. Here are just a few of the many reasons why we’ve gained such a great reputation in our industry:

  • Our products are use 100% Australian made. Other companies rely on bulk orders of from suppliers in China. We would rather rely on trusted glazers than use Chinese glass, which is certainly not manufactured to similarly strict standards.
  • Chinese glass is known to explode under heat, such as that which occurs when the panels is exposed to lengthy periods of sunshine. Many expensive and massive projects have had to replace all of the balustrades, due to faulty products purchased from suppliers in China.
  • We use ‘Toughened Glass’ for our projects. Australian made glass is subjected to a ‘Heat Soaking’ test. This test ensures that all panels is properly manufactured, by testing how durable the glass is. Panels and batches that are found to have Nickel Sulphide Inclusion are discarded.  If any one of the panels within a batch should explode during the test, the entire batch is discarded as it is assumed to be faulty. Standards for glass panel production are high in Australia. By relying on Australian products, you can be sure that your fence structure is secure and safe for your friends, family and guests.
  • We have more than three decades of experience with both glass-work and glazing, you can rely on us. We instruct others in Glass and Glazing at TAFE NSW, and are the authors of the curriculum for New South Wales Glazing for Glass Pool Fencing (Glass Balustrading), which is currently taught at TAFE.
  • We take every necessary effort to ensure that your fence will meet code. With other companies, you run the risk that they will construct a fence that isn’t up to code and then quarrel with you about it afterwards when you voice your displeasure. If you require safety, quality, and top notch professionalism, we are the company for you.

We take on a wide variety of projects. If you are unsure whether we are able to complete the specific Glass & Glazing work you require, please contact us today.
